mount -n -o remount,rw /

I am using SuSE 10 SP2. It happened ocassionally that after shutdown (clicking 'shutdown' in xwindows)and power on the server, the system prompted error:

"fsck failed. Please repair manually and reboot. The root file system is currently mounted read-only. To remount it read-write do:
bash# mount -n -o remount,rw /".

Are there any processes still running when shutdown and causing file system inconsistence? If so, how can I check this. Pls help. Thks.

Shouldn't be. Anything installed via yast should have an appropriate shutdown script setup automagically. Anything you added manually you'll have to check yourself.
