migrating to new server, mail problem

I'm trying to help my brother migrate a bunch of sites to a new server. He's got the web server working, PHP and all that. However, mail isn't working correctly.

I checked my mail account today and my mail client re-downloaded some 250 messages that I had been delivered previously, so it appears that my mail client can authenticate and check for mail in my mailbox. This is good.

However, new mail sent to this server never gets delivered. The mail log reports that the mail is being queued:
Code:
Jan 18 16:59:05 sansebastian postfix/smtp[13790]: 23F376FA09E: to=<my_email@mydomain.com>, relay=127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]:10024, delay=1.5, delays=1.3/0/0.01/0.19, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (250 2.0.0 Ok, id=13794-01, from MTA([127.0.0.1]:10025): 250 2.0.0 Ok: queued as 6DEC96FA09F)
But I keep checking my inbox and it never arrives.

Can anyone recommend some steps to track down the problem?

Hi,

Can you post your main.cf Postfix configuration? At first glance it looks that you're relaying only to localhost. Do you have something like Dovecot installed to handle the mail that gets delivered to localhost? Normally you should use FQDN (fully qualified domain names) to avoid these problems.

Kind regards,

Eric
