Question Making subversion users authenticate with AD credentials

I'm setting up a new subversion server and I'd like to
have the subversion users authenticate to Active Directory.

I've read several articles that tell how to make apache
relay authentication to AD, but the articles are in-
consistent and I'm not sure this would be the best
approach.

I read another article that tells how to make all local
user accounts authenticate to AD. If I do this, I think
it's possible to make apache authenticate to pam, which
would then relay to AD.

Has anyone successfully used either method? Any advice?
