making noise of processor's Fan of HP proliant 370G.

Hi
I have Hp Proliant 370 G machine, when i installed windows server 2003, it does not making any fan noise. and I have installed RHEL 5, its continous making fan noise start from booting to till power off the system. my question is why it is noising and how to set it at rest.

do you have lmsensors installed?

Any OS isn't going to make a CPU fan make noise. Want to test it? Turn the box off, unplug your hard drive, and turn it back on. If it's still making noise, you've obviously got a bad fan, so fix it.
