Can we use Alias directive here ?


I think Alias directive can also be used in this scenario ?

That would achieve the same thing, yes... But would still have the permissions and possibly SELinux problem

I think first thing we should do to isolate the issue is to disable selinux for httpd daemon.we can use following commands for that.

setsebool -P httpd_disable_trans 1
service httpd restart

after disabling selinux for daemon httpd i was able to make the folder browsable thank you everyone for your input.
One question though are there any ramifications for turning off selinux for http, does it leave the system open to somekind of attack.
