Make samba use systems passwd

Im trying to find a way to make users use their system password to login to samba shares, right now im using smbpasswd adding each user to the samba specific passwd file. Is there any way for samba to check the systems passwords for its authentication or a way to sync the samba passwd with the system one ?

thanks in advance.

I don't know if I am recalling this correctly, but I think I read that there was a way to integrate your /etc/shadow (passwords) directly into the smbpasswd file. Basically it's like importing your Unix passwords directly into Samba.
