Make a Clone Img of a Debian Etch Server

Hi,

I have a debian etch server.

What I want to do is that,
Some how make an image of the server so that
if the server needs reinstall i can just use that img.

without losing the initial config of server.

Thanks.

P.S: I have VNC, SSH access and can also get in resuce mode.

not really an answer, but making a backup of /etc
and your installed packages already gets you a long way
dpkg --get-selections > file
