mails sent via mail command not getting delivered

Hi All,

I am trying send a file in an email from a Linux Server.

Mails are getting queued. Not getting delivered. I have the mailhost entry in the /etc/hosts file. Still the mails are not going.

I see bonding is enabled on the server.

When I run the command "host servername" i get the result as can not reach the server.

When I ping the server with its hostname (local ping)

it is getting the ping response from 127.0.0.1

Is it a probelm with /etc/hosts file?

How make an entry for the hostname in the /etc/hosts file when bonding is enabled?

Please help me on the same.

Regards,

Athreya
