Mailbox Importing

Hi all,

We are looking to move from Imail on Windows to qmail on Linux. The main problem we have is that we have over 8,000 users with mailboxes that have email and it needs to move to the new server. We are looking for a solution that can import these mailboxes and subfolders, hopefully through IMAP. If anyone has any ideas, that would be great!

Thanks in advance.

Richard.

I think a HUGE amount of this depends on what the mail currently looks like... what format does this other server use?

If both servers are running IMAP you could use a tool like imapsync http://www.linux-france.org/prj/imapsync/README

Communigate provides a script called moveimapmail to handle this task..

There are commercial solutions available as well..

Thanks for both of your replies. We were looking for something exactly like imapsync where we could use standard IMAP to move mailboxes between servers. We had looked at converting the mailboxes themselves from mbox to qmail's maildir using a Perl script, but hopefully we will not need to with imapsync.

Thank you for your help.
