mail server via SMTP

Hi guys

Im after som advice

I have a hosting reseller account but i would like to manage the mail on my own server, I am looking for something like SME.

But I think I want it to retrieve the mail from my hostings server, and then hold it so it can be accessed by different computers on my network or via a built in webmail if I am working away.

is this possible/easy?

or is there a better way?

Possible?: Yes
Easy?: Depends on you.
Better way?: Depends on your requirements

Sorry, I don't know "SME", so if you can list your actual requirements, desires, or whatever, perhaps we can give more information.

Hiya

Basically I get a lot of email with atatchments, i want somewhere central where i can keep it and control it, at the moment I have to imap in on one pc, adn pop3 on another to stop it filling up, but then i cannot access it via imap obviously.

I want it kept on one server that I can control and keep track of everything, plus as a learnign experience

You can setup an IMAP server, and either setup your own MTA (mail server), or use something like fetchmail to grab your mail from your ISP and delivery to your IMAP server.
