Mail server configuration server

Hi,
I have two problem in sendmail server i had configured

1 > i had configured internal mail server with hostname mail.etl.com
in evolution the configured user@mail.etl.com the mail is delivering fine,But it doesint delivering when i configured for user@etl.com its delivering unknown hostname.I also configured sendmail masquerade.

2 > If any fails in mail delivering with wrong hostname anything else i required the mail to divert to admin@etl.com account.

can anyone help me how can i solve these

I don't get the point of this line
Quote:

do you mean you have configured different mail server for this hostname etl.com?
or you are trying to sendmail to user@etl.com?

keep in mind that for sending mail you will have to use fully qualified hostname.

[root@mail ~]# cat /var/named/chroot/var/named/domain.for

mail.etl.com. IN A 10.200.2.28
I don't see any MX record here but anyways

your last two lines should be soething like this
Code:

IN NS mail.etl.com.
mail IN A 10.200.2.28

now you can use the
Code:

MASQUERADE_AS(`etl.com')dnl
Code:

#m4 sendmail.mc > sendmail.cf
#service sendmail restart

feature of sendmail so that when you send mail to user1@mail.etl.com the mail will be received to him as root@etl.com

I am not very sure to answer your 2nd question

use this feature

now when you sendmail to user@mail.etl.com the received mail appear as user@etl.com

and if any mail is undelivered you can check the mail of root@mail.etl.com
you will receive a mail delivery notification automatically
