Looking for a mail server that can handle many different greeting messages

Hi there,

I'm looking for a mail server program with some specific requirements in mind. Hopefully someone can suggest one for me. I am currently using postfix, however it is unable to handle the large amount of IP's I am accepting mail on.

- I don't need to send out going mail out of my server, only receive incoming.

- all the server has to do is properly receive mail and place it into the correct folder on the hdd.

- the server is associated with many IPs (500+) and many domain names pointed at it. For every connection to the mail server, I need the greeting message to be unique to that ip/domain name.

ie 220 mydomain.com ESMPT

does this make sense? I hope so.

any suggestions?

Depending on how you configure postfix, I'm not sure why it wouldn't be able to handle that quantity of ip addresses. Before we go looking for a new mail server you're likely unfamiliar and uncomfortable with we might want to have a look at your configs and see if there are any obvious problems easy solutions to your issue.
