login to the vnc server using new user other than root

I've configured vnc to run for a users other than root. It's running but doesn't let me log in when i do so from vnc viewer. Gives the following error:

No Password Configured for VNC Auth

I switch to the user and changed password also

I changed the password using vncpasswd and restarted the vncserver

i used tight vnc client from window machine when i enter the ip with : 6 its promt me for password .when i give the password its does not log me .although i enterd the wright password.

Given your other thread, I will again say that VNC, for what you seem to be using it for, is NOT a good idea. Also, just putting that error into Google, pulls up lots of different solutions...have you tried that?

Some other solutions:
  • Run vncpasswd using the account that the VNC server is running as.
  • Remove the .vnc/password file
  • Run tightVNC as administrator on Windows
  • You're putting a ":6"...why? Did you try a :1?
