linux uptime and last reboot
I have linux server which is redhat 7.2
[root@hubble ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Linux release 7.2 (Enigma)
when i give uptime it shows 31 days that means it has been up for 30 days and if give last reboot , it says wtmp begins Mon Jul 6 01:07:56 2009 . what is the difference between them? i did not reboot the server recently
[root@hubble ~]# uptime
10:17am up 31 days, 23:29, 3 users, load average: 0.00, 0.02, 0.00
[root@hubble ~]# last reboot
wtmp begins Mon Jul 6 01:07:56 2009
can you pls explain why it so?
Any help would be highly appreciated!!
