Unhappy Linux Terminal Server Architecture

Hi All,

I am designing pure Linux Based ( No Windows Server 2003 )Terminal Server enviornment. I have three Servers and one SAN for 200 Users enviornment. End users will be access the terminal Server through Thin client ( XDMCP). All the apps( Open Office, Acrobat etc..) will be installated on all terminal servers. I am also planning to put all the three terminal servers in cluster mode for high availibity and load balancing. My concern is about user's home directory. Can i keep the user's home directory on SAN (Which is windows based).I also want to map a network drive (SAN) to every users for centralize storage. I m using LDAP for authentication.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Well as long as the SAN exports a posix compliant filesystem then sure you can use it. Not sure what you really mean by a windows SAN. You could have a windows NAS, giving out CIFS / SMBFS shares, but if it's a SAN then it only provides access to LUN's, which would be formatted accordingly on the local machine, meaning Windows factors would play no role in it.
