Linux keeps rebooting after install
Hello,
First, I m a newbie in Linux but I have strong experience with Windows Servers. I am installing Red Hat ES 4 on a new machine (not a brand computer). The install process goes trhough but when the machine reboots, instead of loading Linux, it loops on rebooting. The machine is based on a Pentium 4 3.4 GHZ, 2 GB DDR non ECC. HAD 120 GB Sata Seagate, DVD=RW and a network card gigabit RealTek. Anyone can help ? Thank you Philippe Couillez |
I am a newbie too in linux, but i have an experience just like you with mandriva 2005. I think it lokks like the LILO on linux has broken or doesn't have enough space for booting.
As we know that we have to set up some partitions before installing linux. I suggest you try to repairing the BOOT LOADER / LILO using knopix live cd |
are you suing USB devices? try unplugging all usb hardware.
