linux box to talk to 98se machine and wireless ap

The possibility of setting up an old Pentium MMX with a DSL linux distro whose purpose would be to relay a connection to a wireless router for an wireless AP and a hub to a WIN 98se machine. The concept sounds somewhat simple but in reality it might not be as possible as it sounds. If anyone has any experience with something along these lines and it failed let me know.
