Limiting the size of logical volumes in a volume group

All I could find on this matter was related to either creation or resizing of logical volumes within a volume group. How does one limit the size of a logical volume so it can't be grown after its creation?

Only the superuser can create or extend an LVol, so why bother limiting an LVol's size? I don't think it's possible.
