Limit the number of logins for a user to only one.

I ran into a user today that indicated that their company only allows them to log in through a terminal session once (no multiple logins). On second try their login window terminates. They are using putty.

Is this being accomplished through PAM or sshd ( or some other method)?

Have a look at /etc/security/limits.conf

This file is used to restrict maximum concurrent logins that is allowed to a user.
