I am running a file downloading service, based on lighttpd.
My servers have 1gbps(120MBits) connection, and files from 500mb to 1gb.
According to my calculations, lighttpd should be able to hold around 1000 simultaneous downloads(128Kbits), however, after 400 it starts to run very slow(10seconds to view a 5 char text file).
Lighttpd consumes all ram on the server, wich is not a problem as it runs alone.

Why isn't it able to send more?

The things i modified in the configuration are:
server.max-fds = 2048
server.max-connections = 5000
server.max-read-idle = 3600
server.max-write-idle = 3600
server.max-keep-alive-requests = 0

Could you please tell me what else do i need to configure so i could be able to have 1500 simultaneous downloads?
