ldap user ok, groups not recognized. Redhat

Hello,

RHEL5 ldap not recognize groups. The client does recognize users.

I just finished building my first ldap server, openldap 2.3.43 on RHEL5.4. I have an ou=people and an ou=groups. I built a client and pointed it to the server. If I log into the client it can authenticate a user but not groups. The same is true on the server. I have edited the

Quote:
/etc/nsswitch.conf

passwd: files ldap
shadow: files ldap
group: files ldap
It works for the passwd and shadow files but not groups. I have three different groups defined but they are not getting through. I'm confused. In my searches I've found others who aren't getting anything but so far nothing like this.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Got it, yea
I finally realized the problem was with the info in the LDIF I imported. The groups didn't have a gidNumber.
