LDAP server

Hello,

I am running centOS 4.4 and am trying to get a samba server configuring to a LDAP server. I made the samba server fairly easy and made it a PDC. However when I get to the LDAP server I get lost on making the LDIF file. Would anyone be able to show me a basic LDIF file that tells me what I need to put in and where.

Very much appreciated.

Hi wendea,

you can use the PADL migrationtools which most likely are already installed on your system. Depeding on your distro the location may differ. On my CentOS5 machine they are located in /usr/share/openldap/migration
The migrate_base.pl script in the folder will create you a base ldif file: "./migrate_base.pl > /tmb/base.ldif"

Just don't forget to modify the migrate_common.ph file and set

# Default DNS domain
$DEFAULT_MAIL_DOMAIN = "yourdomain.com";

# Default base
$DEFAULT_BASE = "dc=yourdomain,dc=com";

Best Regards,

simplyA
