LDAP Password Change Propagate to Samba
Hi guys,
I've got Samba setup and authenticating against Open Directory.
I have an Open Directory server ("ServerOD").
I have a Samba server running on Debian 8 ("ServerD")
And I have a OS X client machine bound to Open Directory ("Client")
I have a Open Directory/LDAP, network login ("smbuser")
I have Open Directory authentication working. For example, I can login to ServerD and Client with using smbuser login.
I have Samba setup and authenticating against Open Directory. I can login to Client (as smbuser) and access Samba shares on ServerD.
When logged into ServerD (as smbuser) I can change smbuser password with smbpasswd command. This succesfully changes smbuser passwords in LDAP and Samba.
But when I login to Client (a OS X machine) and I change smbuser password there, the password only gets updated in Open Directory.
I know Open Directory is OpenLDAP under the cover. Are their configuration files I need to touch in Open Directory so that it will update Samba passwords?
