Lanscape Failure, cups-1.2.4, RHEL5.1
I migrated from RHEL4.6 with cups-1.1.22 to RHEL5.1 with cups-1.2.4 and I find that I can not print landscape.
This is using HP printers, direct to the socket 9100. I've tried several model, including: HP LaserJet 4 with the hpijs driver HP LaserJet 4000 with postscript driver And several PPDs, bundled with foomatic and current ones from linuxprinting.org. With '-o landscape' it still prints in portrait. With '-o orientation-requested=4' there is no output, or it is rotated off the page. Here is an example test: date | lp -o landscape I don't know where to turn or how to resolv this. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated! |
As it turns out this is a regression bug from RHEL4 to RHEL5/5.1 when they switched to paps. Sounds like RedHat will fix in RHEL5.2. I got around this by installing a version of paps from FC6.
rpm -e paps --nodeps wget ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/download....1.fc6.i386.rpm wget ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/download....1.fc6.i386.rpm rpm -ivh paps-0.6.8-1.fc6.i386.rpm paps-libs-0.6.8-1.fc6.i386.rpm This fixes the landscape bug and some other bugs with margins. http://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=299691 |
