Is there any particular reason why people still continue to use Apache 1.3?

The title says it all. Why would anyone continue to use Apache 1.3 when 2.x is the active tree and appears to have more features?

Is 2.x more bloated causing 1.3 to be faster?

I guess that ISPs in general tend to delay the use of newer versions in order to avoid trouble. Why start a new version when everything's working fine?

So a lot of hosting companies (at least in Germany) still use the old apache, php4 (and keep register_globals=On - though this his absolutely not recommended for several years)

I havnt heard anyone saying that apache2 performs worse...

Some modules are pretty diferent or totally unsuported in 2.x series, thats a big problem for hosting companies.

And, as j-ray already said, if its working, dont touch it! lol

[]´s, FMC!
