Is cups using /usr/bin/lp to print?

Hi to all.

I think this question may be trivial for some people more experienced with cups, unfortunately my cups expertize is very low.

I guess that cups uses lp or lpr for printing, from man pages its saying that cups can use both (I have to be honest that I don't know where, or how to see which its using). Well, lp has a very interesting option that I need to use "-o fitpage" unfortunately printing PDFs from Evince doesn't give this option although Adobe Reader does (but I can't use it here. Speed and compatibility) , so I'm trying to make a wraper for lp which will automatically set this option on every printing sent to lp. Well, the wrapper works when printing from command line like "$ lp somefile.ps" but from Evince it seens to ignore /usr/bin/lp or /usr/bin/lpr I'm saying that cause my wrapper after doesnt work I renamed both binaries and still I'm able to print.

Please, I would be very apreciated if someone could give me a help with that. Thanks in advance.

best regards!
