My name is Andrew and I have never used this forum before. I have used computers for a number of years but I am not strong in linux. I can get around and eventually figure most things out but I am no expert.
I have a web server that I am looking after it is running FC9. There is a contact page that uses a web form to submit the email. The server then tries to use sendmail to send that mail to the contact, of course it fails due to configuration.
I have looked around and found info on SMTP AUTH for both submit.cf and sendmail.cf but I don't want or need to have the sendmail server running all I need is to have the sendmail client relay the mail to our ISP using a main account and then have the ISP mail server do the work.
After much reading and little understanding I would like to know if it is possible to only configure the submit.cf and not have the sendmail server running and if so how do I do it.
