am trying to install MariaDB Server.
Have tried by both apt-get & Synaptic. On both occasions I get the message
'Please insert the disk labelled Debian GNU/Linux8_Jessie_-Official Snapshot i386 LIVE/INSTALL
Binary 20150710-13:05
I have no idea where this is available from.
Having followed setting up MariaDB repositories info
it appears that I need a key to continue.
In terminal I tried the second line of the 'setting up of repositories' which was sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys -- keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com 0xcbcb082albb943db.
The response to this was "0xcbcb082albb943db not a key id : skipping" . I have modified my etc/apt/sources.list file a couple of times ,adding both versions one at a time
"deb [arch=amd64,i386]
http://mariadb.uberglobalmirror.com/repo/10.1/debian jessie main "
AND
"deb-src
http://mariadb.uberglobalmirror.com/repo/10.1/debian jessie main "
OR THIS SET
"deb [arch=amd64,i386]
http://mirror aarnet.edu.au/pub/MariaDB/repo/10.1/debian jessie main"
AND
"deb-src
http://mirror aarnet.edu.au/pub/MariaDB/repo/10.1/debian jessie main"
when i checked to see what i had modified my /etc/apt/sources.list file to I found to my surprise
this entry at the top of the listing
"deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 8_Jessie_-Official Snapshot i386 LIVE/INSTALL Binary 20150710_13:05]/ jessie main"
Perhaps some kind soul can help me as I have no idea
if I need a physical CD or not and if I need a 'KEY"
to proceed . Is it a good idea to be installing MariaDB in the first place. If I need a physical CD where do I obtain it as my web search does not help
Thanks John
