Question Install Asterisk + AsteriskGUI on Centos dedicated web server

Hi, I hace a dedicated server with my web pages, shoutcast streams, webmin, ftp and common server things.

Is a paid server, I have no physical access to it.

I have installed asterisk (elastix) from CD but now I wanna know if asterisk can be installed on my server without crashing anything on the system. I was looking and all I faound was tutorials from zero. So I dont want to crash my system to test if it can be installed :P thats why Im asking this.

I dont know if it uses some port that can affect normal functions.

I have a dual core processor, 2 GB RAM, 150 GB HD.

Thanks!

We don't know your system so nobody would guarantee anything. Make backups regularly. Run a copy of your production server locally (in VMWare or VirtualBox?) to test stuff on.

We don't know your system so nobody knows what you consider "normal" ;-p VoIP protocols, like most common services, have official port assignments so they don't get in each others way.
