how to increase upload speed on debian , please help

Your upload speed is likely not related to your operating system, but your network connectivity or firewalling.

You would have to provide more information to get assistance diagnosing what the problem is.

i using Following

ftp-server:proftpd & use cms joomla is mysite
my machine : asus series p5* & MY OS is Debian Lenny with LAST Updates

What does your provider give you as an upload speed, I am sure that is your problem. Your hardware and O/S are fine.

Who is your provider and what type of connection? (cable or DSL)

I just switched from DSL to cable for this very reason. My DSL upload speed was only 384kbits, with cable it is 2Mbits. I'm paying just less than twice the price for more than 5 times the speed.
