ImageMagick on Cent OS 5.4 64bit

Hello,

I recently switched my server to Cent OS 5.4 64 bit. Earlier I was using Fedora Core 7 server. One of my php script require ImageMagick (imagick) extension. I have installed ImageMagick from yum repo on cent and also installed pear module via PECL command.

Everything is working fine except one thing. In my script, I am calling a method on ImageMagick object trimImage(). On Fedora server its working fine, but on Cent OS server, its showing an error in apache log that "Call to undefined method Imagick trimImage()".

I have tried both x86_64 and i386 version via Cent OS repos and result is same. I checked and found version of ImageMagick is different on both OS. On Fedora, its 6.3.x

Code:
[root@centosserver ~] # convert -version
Version: ImageMagick 6.2.8 04/17/08 Q16 file:/usr/share/ImageMagick-6.2.8/doc/index.html
Copyright: Copyright (C) 1999-2006 ImageMagick Studio LLC
Code:
[root@fedoraserver ~] # convert -version
Version: ImageMagick 6.3.2 04/05/07 Q16 file:/usr/share/ImageMagick-6.3.2/doc/index.html
Copyright: Copyright (C) 1999-2007 ImageMagick Studio LLC
So do I need to install ImageMagick manually? Or is there any repository available for Cent OS with latest version of Image Magick.

Any clue ?

There's usually someone who has packaged a more recent version, you could try rpmfind or Dag. Another possibility would be to compare the API's and see if there was an equivalent method available in the older version,

cheers

This method requires ImageMagick 6.2.9 or newer.

See http://php.net/manual/en/function.imagick-trimimage.php.

Cheers, Lou
