sandiip,
Make your title more descriptive of the problem so that others will have immediate idea of what you need and thereby be able to make due responses to your advantage. Simply saying "Identify disk" is too broad.
I for one never use RHEL anymore; and I don't know what is EVA P6300.
To see what device (on board or attached) into your system while in Gnu/Linux running there are ways to do that:
1. This command
Code:
you@host--# lsscsi --long
2. This command also
Code:
you@host--# dmesg | egrep '(SCSI|scsi0|ide0|hda|eth0)'
And the practical way is to hit "Del" at POST or when the motherboard firmware appears; then go to your BIOS and read the specific definitions (or descriptions) of your drives; usually SATA or ATA also you can examine your DVD drive brand and specifications.
By the way as to your drive enumerated in two distinct device nodes check your /etc/udev/rules.d/*persistent* files see how it is written, find out whether there are separate entries about "sdc" and "sdd" you may *try* to comment *#* one and restart udev (if your system allows, mine does by 'force' and I usually force it to my will
) Be reminded also that Raid is an array of nodes and one device usually happens to get enumerated into several pointers: so don't meddle with it if you are running critical services. However, if you don't use Raid you may disable it at the BIOS.
Hope that helps.
Goodluck.
