I want merge CD of Red hat 7.2 with floppy disk "boot custom installation" of dell server
Dears,
I want to merge CD of Red hat 7.2 with floppy disk "boot custom installation" of dell server Power edge 2850 ,so I triad many times to do this installation without this floppy disk ,
In addition, you might need to elaborate on your boot custom installation. If you are trying to use a kickstart configuration file you can use a USB flash drive. Make sure the USB ports are enabled and then use something like ks=hd:sdx1:/ks.cfg (where sdx is the actual USB flash drive device ID).
I did something similar a long time ago on BeOS. I forget exactly but you used track 1 as the floppy image and track 2 was the cd image. I think someone made a nero build cue file for that even. Cat command may be used too as I recall. Been many years.
A dell Poweredge 2850 is a very old piece of hardware... Heck those things must be 10-11 years old? Even if you could get the installer to load I am going to suspect you are going to see a lot of issues with missing drivers. I think the biggest issue will be the RAID drivers... Neither Redhat or Dell will support such an old server and so you'd probably have to hunt down really hard as such.
