I am wondering how to setup Bind9 on Ubuntu Server 32-bit
 

I have worked with servers before now, but not DNS nameservers and I would like help setting up Bind9 on my Ubuntu 11.04 Server.

Hmmm... Im looking for more of a guide that tells me what Im doing and what to change (like my gateway address)and when I need to change something not just have the guide tell me what to put in and not when to customize.

Let us know the exact information that you are looking for. We would like to know which type of DNS server you are looking for. There are different ways to setup a DNS server. Example:

1. You can set up a DNS server as primary or secondary.
2. You can set up a DNS server as caching only.
3. You can set up a DNS server as forwarder.

It would be helpful if you can tell us what exactly you are looking for when you say you want to configure bind9.

Bind is not really difficult to setup. I installed Ubuntu server edition and within the first couple of hours I had Bind running coupled with DHCP to provide dynamic DNS and could access any system on my LAN by name or IP. There are lots of how to documents on the internet. If you are looking for a quick guide, here is a site I would recommend (hint: it is the one I used) but note that there are several editions and similar guides so be sure to check the tabs on the right side of the page.
