HTTPD service

HTTPD Service problem

I am facing problem on the service httpd as it doesn't start the services while
service httpd restart or
service httpd start.

On checking the status it show
httpd is stop.

I have tried many cases like

/etc/init.d/httpd start
/usr/sbin/ httpd start

/sbin/service httpd start

as apache is ok, i have checked

apachectl

But failed to start

Starting httpd: [Failed]
Stoping httpd: [Failed]

I am requiring the solution. Hope you guys can help it out.

Hi and welcome to LQ.

Have you looked at the error log files which should be in /var/log/httpd? Hopefully these will give you a clue about why httpd won't start.
