Guys,

I have a portal server running on a linux(Red hat EL 5) m/c.I am able to ping the m/c in the network.I can access the portal server on the m/c however I am not able to access it in the network.(I get a connection refused from the server if I access it on the network)

I am able to ping the server.! My server listens at 8080.and I have checked this with the following.

netstat -na | grep 8080
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:8080 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN

Can you plz help me resolve this.What needs to be done so that I can access this portal server across the network?

When you say you can access it off the machine, do you mean at http://localhost:8080 or at http://<machine's ip address>:8080?

Are there any firewalls between you and the machine blocking port 8080?
