How to use Fedora DS with sendmail+dovecot+squirrelmail
Hi,
I have succesfully configured a simple mail server having sendmail+dovecot+squirrelmail.
My system user is able to send and recieve the mails to any domain.
But I want to use Fedora DS with Sendmail and Dovecot.
Kindly help me what are steps should I follow.
I googled a lot but did nt find correct answer.
Sendmail and dovecot would just integrate with system level ldap integration, they'd not normally need to know about the servers themselves. I expect that squirrelmail would also be able to happily work this way, but also probably be able to directly configure LDAP within it's config files. What kind of mail boxes are these?
Fedora DS is basically just an ldap server as Chris implied. Just use dovecot's ldap settings to integrate that side. Can't help with sendmail I'm afraid. IIRC, sendmail wil authenticate directly with dovecot, but it does have ldap settings, although as I recall, these are for addressbooks and the like, but I may be wrong.
