Question How To: Upgrade to Apache 1.3.37 on Debian 4.0 r0

Hello everyone,

I am kind of new to Linux and have been playing around with Debian for the past weeks. I installed Apache by executing the following the apt-get install apache command. It ended up installing Apache 1.3.34 but I want Apache 1.3.37 (the last and most stable version). So I'm wondering how I could upgrade it to 1.3.37 manually because executing apt-get upgrade apache or apt-get install apache again doesn't do the job. I also updated by apt list by executing apt-get update and tried again and it still said I had the latest version. If anyone has a solution for this and could take the time to simplify the upgrade steps I would really appreciate that.

Thank you very much and I look forward to your replies.

Although the version number does not match, I believe that Debian version 1.3.34-4.1 is actually 1.3.37. Compare the release announcement from Apache and the Debian Apache changelog. Both mention a fix for CVE-2006-3747.

Question Hmmm...

Are you sure about that? I've seen some people out there who run Apache 1.3.37 on Debian.

No I'm not sure, as I don't use Apache. But you should click my links and do your own Googling and decide for yourself.
