Its funny - I was trying to find the same thing yesterday, as my secondary MX host was required for a few hours, and the queue had a number of messages in it and it was taking its time to retry sending the messages to the primary.

Anyway:
Code:
postqueue -f
will get the server to try to resend all the messages in its queue.

On a related note - does anyone know how to set the time between retrys for sending messages in Postfix. IE: I would like it to try every 15 minutes to resend the messages in its queue, rather than waiting for an eternity to send one message at a time.

ok, think i can help you with this.

if a message is not deliverable, posfix tries again later. It keeps trying, and with every try the wait time between doubles.

there are three settings to go in main.cf

queue_run_delay = 1000s ( 1000 seconds ) - how often to check the deferred queue

minimal_backoff_time = 1000s = minimal time to wait between tries to resend.

maximal_backoff_time = 4000s = max time to wait to try resend.

hope these help, your answer sure helped me.
thanks
