How to prevent root user from logging into ssh

yo you there?Dear All
I just wanted to restrict logging for the root user through shh.I found a solution which is simply saying to add a line to /etc/ssh/sshd_config . The line is

permitRootLogin no

But it is not working . Would u please suggest me what can i do to stop root's ssh access.

Thanking You

Did you restart ssh afterward?

That should do it. Did you stop then start sshd after making the change?

Peace,
JimBass
