how to prevent everybody in the world to send email to email aliases


Dear All,

I am running postfix-2.6.6-2.2.el6_1.x86_64
on my Centos 6.5 x64..

I have email alias (ie. itstaffs@mydomain.com), but I want to use it internal only, how to prevent everybody in the world to send email to it?

please help

My best advice would be to create the account and add it to your mail client, if you leave it as an alias for your normal email account setting your spam filters differently for it will be...problematic. On the itstaff account set your spam filter to catch anything from outside the domain.
Probably could do this from your postfix server, with a lot of time and research, but honestly, one day you'll quit that job, heck, they may even fire you (no tellin'). If you do it on the server your replacement will be enjoying a spam free existence for years to come and really, who wants that?
Let that guy suffer until he finds this message board, put your filters for that account on your mail client.
