How to measure IOPS in Linux

I want to virtualize some servers but need to figure out what their current IOPS are. I only have CLI access to the servers. Does anyone know how to do this?

Try this thread... It mentions "collectl", a tool which someone else used for this problem, a usage example (at the end), and many posts trying to figure out what the guy meant by IOPS :L
