How to install up2date
Dear all
I just installed RHEL 5,1, But after i installed it, I found that I didn't install openssh or up2date,no yum or apt-get, how to install them manually with rpm ? Thanx |
RHEL 5x doesn't use up2date any more - it uses yum.
If you really didn't install yum then I'd say you need to install it from your installation media. The packages I have on my RHEL 5.1 system: yum-rhn-plugin-0.4.3-2.el5 yum-3.0.1-5.el5 yum-updatesd-3.0.1-5.el5 yum-downloadonly-1.0.4-3.el5 yum-metadata-parser-1.0-8.fc6 The yum-downloadonly is something I installed after the fact - not part of the distribution. I think the rest of it was part of the distirbution so ought to be on your installation media. |
thanx so much dear
