how to fix "execve: Permission denied"

Apologies, I am cross posting this here since the "newbie" forum didn't help,

Something has happend to our linux box (suse) and I can't figure out which ACL is breaking (or if that's the case)

If I execute
# man man
execve: Permission denied"

if I strace man man

Please don't do this as it is against forum rules. Also, it doesn't look like you gave the post in the Newbie forum very long before posting this. LQ has an auto bump feature, where threads with zero replies are automatically bumped to the top of the forum for a couple of days. Also please remember that people here donate their time and efforts, and if it takes a bit to get an answer, that is just the way it goes.

Please post your thread in only one forum. Posting a single thread in the most relevant forum will make it easier for members to help you and will keep the discussion in one place. This thread is being closed because it is a duplicate.

If you think your thread is in the wrong forum, please use the report button to let us know so that we move it to an appropriate thread. There is not need to double post. Cheers.
