How to add newly added to multipath


Hi ,

I have scanned & find newly attached disk.Need help how to added newly attached disk to multipath configuration .To extend the Volume Group size .Whether i can perform below mentioned command


vgextend Tomcat /dev/sdaw.Kindly advise how to addded disk to multipath

could you post your /etc/multipath.conf.
You'll also need a WWID for the hba or bonded interface
And you'll want to run a modprobe for DM-Multipath to make sure the kernel is on board with this.
Other than that, if you have everything set up correctly, the command to start it is something like

service multipathd start
mulitpath -v2
As always, check manual for details

Just try and run multipath -r

It will reload all multipath-related info (the "-r" option will force multipath to reload the device maps). I just did it, a few hours ago, on a production server and it worked like a charm.

Try to use 'rescan-scsi-bus.sh -a' and then if possible 'multipath -F; multipath -v3'. Attach the output, if it doesnt work. Also, could be that those 2-3 disks are not multpathable (if that makes sense).
