How to Access Web Pages from /home/user/

Hi All,

After getting my web site accessible from /var/www/html/index.html now I want to access pages from user's home directory, eg.: /home/demo/web/aboutMe.html

I enabled user_dir in the configuration file and also set the permissions on the user's home directory and the public folder as mentioned in the httpd.conf file.

I am still getting the error:
Code:

Forbidden 403
... you are not authorized to access the web page... whatever.

Note:

/var/www/html/index.html has links similar to the one given below:

Code:

<a href="~demo/web/aboutMe.html"> About Demo </a>

Have you tried symlinking from /var/www to the home directory?
