how can I preserve sgid with drag and drop?

Hi All,

I have a shared folder (nfs and samba) with the gid set. It works if people create a new file or folder in the share. However, if they drag in a file or folder from elsewhere, its keeps its original permissions and gid isn't set to the shared group.

Is there a way I can force the gid to be set on drag and drops? Currently I am fixing it with a cron job.

Thanks

No idea but wouldn't an Inotify-based trigger be able to fix it quicker?
