how can get iso or image boot backup with linux command or script


Hi

i have a big problem

in our company we have more than 100 physical server (HP G4 ,HP G5) that installed on them redhat 3.4 and redhat 4 and our systems can not connect to internet i know this is very traditional but we can not to virtual and upgrae our os and hardware for some reason now i want a solution for backup & recoery for example i want to know can i get backup with linux command and create an iso image ?

i know there is acronis for linux and windows we chk that for win and work fine i want know can we get backup with linux command or script if my hadware complete damage i use just that backup or iso image for recover and boot system?

i want use a way for install that backup on a system that is instead of damaged system and boot new system just with that backup

tar, xz to compress
and mkisoimage to create a iso file

Apart from the question of backup, you might also consider if RHEL 3 and 4 are still supported on any hardware that is less than ten years old.

One bit-by-bit backup and restore solution is clonezilla. It just takes the content of a harddisk, compresses it and stores it on another disk, another server etc. Disadvantage: you need to take a server offline to back it up.
