All day I've been experiencing high server load on my system. I'm running Plesk 10.2.0 on Linux CentOS 5, I'm no good with servers so I'm trying to understand what could be causing this,
I've noticed when the server has a really high load this starts to appear,
All day I've been experiencing high server load on my system. (..) I have full access to the server are there any error logs that might help? If so what should I be looking for?
So far you've created 15 threads, the first one two years ago, and the majority of those is about your server crashing etc, etc. While most threads have been somewhat inconclusive you have been given advice about where to look (/var/log mostly). What I'm worrying about is 0) that you'll never learn (but at least you could visit your previous threads in an attempt to find out what you had to look at last time or even hire an admin) and 1) you're fscking up a production server (apparently there have been periods in which it seemed to have run well?). I strongly suggest you acquire a development or staging host in which you can test, play around, fsck up and restore stuff and keep your production host running smoothly.
Seeing an increasing or high amount of Apache threads and increasing load is a symptom of something else. Ensure that whatever measures you take or took are based on understanding the cause (and not say blithely increase the amount of connections Apache can handle). To address your current problem: have a look at /var/log/messages, the web server and database logs first. If you want a quick method then copy the logs over to a workstation and run them through 'logwatch'. You also best review (and list) any software and configurational changes and anomalies that occurred since it ran OK.
Hi guys, My server has been crashing almost on a daily basis. What happens is the server ram gets used up and it becomes unresponsive. When I'm in SSH I can't even do anything as the site has no ram what so ever and my machine is a really nice one 4 gigs i5 processor.
I have hundreds and hundreds of the following in my /var/log/httpd

I've seen several article on the connection dummy issue but I've patched and nothing is working. Godaddy is not providing any support and so far I cannot manage to keep my sever up and it's starting to become a huge pain for me and my websites.
