Hide my identity on a linux server

Hi all,

I'm frequently connecting to a remote linux server and I was wondering if there's a way to hide or mask my ip (or the location from where I'm connecting) on the server. So that when someone run the finger command or the w command they don't see where I'm connecting from (I don't mind if they see me connected, but i don't want to reveal my location).

I appreciate any help
Thanks

@descendant_command Could you please elaborate? I'm new to this and there isn't much information on the web about this matter.
Also is this possible through linux commands without the need to install extra programs.
Thanks a lot in advance

The point is that you cannot hide your "identity" on the server, you have to mask your source before reaching the server.
As mentioned before "Proxy/VPN/Tor" and such are good starting points.
